Dear Prof. Nolasco,
As you are the President of the Portuguese Society of Nephrology, it is a great pleasure to remind you of the activities of the ERA-EDTA Young Nephrologists' Platform (YNP).
YNP was created in 2012, aiming to involve young nephrologists, trainees and scientists in all activities of the ERA-EDTA. It has grown over the years and currently has 202 members from approximately 50 different countries.
This successful platform has many interesting programs. Firstly, there is the YNP Advisory Program, which offers a unique chance to young nephrologists to exchange experiences and to confer with senior scientists or professionals within the Society. Secondly, the free membership program grants free ERA EDTA membership to YNP members based on the quality score of their abstract submitted to the annual ERA-EDTA Congress or based on the applicant being first or last author of a paper published in the Society’s journals, NDT and CKJ.
Further to these programs, YNP members are entitled to a lower registration fee at YNP CME Courses, and we launched an open channel discussion via blog, where members can comment and pose questions to experts on a preselected theme.
We would very much appreciate if you could send this letter to all your young nephrologists so that they can become a member of this platform. YNP members must be current ERA-EDTA members, not older than 40, and have had at least one abstract accepted at an international congress.
Finally, we would like to hear more about the needs of young nephrologists within your country. Therefore, if this information is available to you, we would appreciate receiving the contact details of a representative of young nephrologists in your country in order to support and help young nephrologists in Europe.
Thank you very much in advance for your attention and reply.
Ana Carina Ferreira
Chair of ERA-EDTA Young Nephrologists' Platform (YNP)
